REMEMBER ALWAYS TO USE ONLY 100% REAL SHARP SUPPLIES AND PARTS IN YOUR SHARP EQUIPMENT.

IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE

Common Sharp Copier Symbols and their meanings

Toner

Add Toner

This is pretty self explanatory, but check your manual for the proper toner and instructions for adding.  If you need help with what toner your machine takes, call us.

Believe it or not, this will save you all kinds of time and aggravation.  Toner is a powder.  It cakes up in storage, and if the clumps are not broken up, it will not go into the machine properly.  Shake well!

Waste Toner

Empty Waste Toner Container

Many Sharp copiers have a waste toner collection system.  This system keeps the inside of the copier clean by providing a place for unused toner, paper dust and any dirt in the copying system to be collected.  When this light comes on, remove the waste toner container and replace it with an empty container.  DO NOT THROW AWAY THE CONTAINER OR REUSE THE TONER.  Put the container in the cabinet for your service technician to pick up the next time he is there to perform maintenance.

Maintenance Required

Misfeed or Jam

When either of these 2 lights come on, it is time for a scheduled maintenance cycle.  This can only be done by your authorized Sharp Service center.  Give us a call and we will be happy to perform these services.  Both of these lights usually come on at the same time.

This unfriendly little symbol indicates a dreaded paper misfeed, more commonly known  as a "jam".  Remove the misfed paper according to the instructions for your specific Sharp copier model and you should be back in business.

NOTE:  The majority of jams in copiers is caused by paper.  If your machine begins to jam frequently on any given day, try replacing the paper in the trays with a brand new unopened pack of paper and see how that works.  If this does not remedy the situation, call for service.  Machines still do infrequently jam for other reasons.
